An equally typical Asian blade shape is the Nakiri knife from the SUPER GOU 161 series by the Japanese manufacturer Yaxell. Each knife features 80 layers of stainless steel forged onto a core of SG-2 steel. The highly edge-retaining blade, whose bolster slopes towards the handle, is complemented by a red-black handle made of indestructible linen micarta with a wood-look finish, secured to the tang with three rivets. The handle is finished with a stainless steel 18/10 end cap engraved with the word GOU, providing additional stability.
