The Böker Abalone combines an extraordinary appearance with outstanding performance. The drop-forged blade of this exceptional razor is made from carbon steel O1 (1.2510) and hardened to 59-61 HRC. Thanks to its superior properties and excellent edge retention, this carbon steel is perfectly suited for high-quality razors. White gold, sea snails, sea or ear shells are just a few synonyms for abalone.

The mollusks, which cling a few meters below the water surface off the coasts of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Mexico, and South Africa, are considered a delicacy and have, due to their desirability, even triggered entire gang wars in the past. Today, this precious natural product is farmed in aquaculture facilities. The beautiful and almost artificially shimmering shells of these popular mollusks have always been used as decorative objects, utility items, or as raw material for jewelry, inlays, or mother-of-pearl clasps. Using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, an ultra-thin layer of colorful abalone is applied to a backing material and encased in transparent acrylic. The resulting, highly durable material is ideal for making razor handles and impresses with its exceptional play of colors and three-dimensional appearance.

The 6/8 inch wide blade of this exceptional razor is extra hollow ground for resonance and equipped with serrations on both sides. The French point of the razor blade made from carbon steel O1 blends harmoniously with the extraordinary abalone handle. The simple laser engraving is based on a historic blade etching that was already used at the beginning of the 20th century for particularly unique razors from Böker.
