Böhler N679 / BECUT or 1.4153.03 (AISI Niolox) is a niobium-alloyed stainless blade steel for fine edges.

Chemical composition

• C: 0,79%
• Si: 0,4%
• Mn: 0,4%
• Cr: 13%
• Mo: 1,35%
• Nb: 0,75%
• V: 0,87%

Heat treatment: Hardening Niolox:

• Hardening: 1070°C (air)
• Tempering: 2 hours at 200°C
• Hardness: ~ 60 HRC
