Böhler N360 is an excellent choice when you want to make a kitchen knife with extremely high and long-lasting sharpness that also needs to be stainless. It is also ideally suited for a diving knife/fishing knife due to its very high corrosion resistance.

 

Böhler N360 or 1.4108 (X30CrMoN15-1) is a stainless, martensitic chromium steel.
Produced using the pressure-ESU process for a fine microstructure. Additionally approved for food contact.

Chemical composition

  • C: 0,30%
  • Cr: 15%
  • Mn: 0,40%
  • Mo: 1%
  • N: 0,40%
  • Si: 0,60%

 

Heat treatment / Hardening Böhler N360 steel

  • Hardening temperature: 1030°C (air)
  • Tempering: 2 hours at 200°C
  • Annealing: 800°C - 850°C
  • Forging: 1000°C - 1220°C
  • Hardness: ~60 HRC

 

Finish
Laser cut, rolled & annealed
