The 1.1274 / C100 steel, also known as AISI 1095 steel, is a carbon steel.

5,6mm: sheared and subsequently straight-rolled

Suitable steel for forging damascus (forge welding).
Etches dark grey in damascus
Very high sharpness
Easy to sharpen
Hamon (hardening line) possible

Our "1.1274 / C100 or 1095 steel" heat treatment recommendation:
Hardening:

Hardening temperature: 800°C - 830°C
Quenching medium: oil
Cryogenic treatment: optional, minor benefit possible
Tempering: 160°C - 200°C
Achievable hardness: 60 - 64 HRC
