1.8159 / 51CrV4 / 6150 sword steel

The 1.8159/ 51CrV4 or AISI 6150 is a sword steel or a carbon steel.

Our "1.8159 / 51CrV4 or 6150 steel" heat treatment recommendation:
Hardening:

• Hardening temperature: 850°C - 870°C
• Quenching medium: oil
• Cryo treatment: optional
• Tempering: 160°C - 200°C or 400°C
• Achievable hardness: 50 - 56 HRC

Annealing: 680°C - 720°C
Normalizing: 870°C - 900°C
