Nichols Damascus - XHP Core Damascus (stainless)

American stainless damascus by Chad Nichols, core layer made of XHP.

• Core layer made of powder metallurgy CTS XHP

The core layer in this damascus runs very asymmetrically through the material.

Chemical composition CTS XHP

• C: 1,6%
• Cr: 16,0%
• Mn: 0,5%
• Mo: 0,8%
• Ni: 0,35%
• V: 0,45%
• Si: 0,4%

Heat treatment / hardening CTS XHP

• Hardening temperature: 1030°C - 1080°C (air/oil)
• Tempering: 2 hours at 200°C
• Annealing: 800°C - 850°C
• Hardness: ~63 HRC
