Rust-resistant Japanese San Mai (3 layers) with powder metallurgy ZDP-189 core layer.
The ZDP-189 steel is a high-alloy chromium steel with an extremely high carbon content.
Properties
- ZDP-189 steel (PM) core layer
- Extremely high wear resistance
- Extreme hardness
- Despite its hardness and wear resistance, relatively easy to sharpen (as it contains only chromium and iron carbide)
- Uniform carbide distribution due to powder metallurgy
- Outer layers significantly softer than the core layer
- Made in Japan
