1.2003 / 75Cr1 / 1075-CR carbon steel

The 1.2003 / C75 75Cr1 or also AISI 1075 +CR is a carbon steel.

Properties

• Suitable steel for forging damascus (forge welding).
  Etches dark grey in damascus
• Very high sharpness
• Easy to sharpen
• Also suitable as sword steel

Recommended applications

• European chef’s knives
• Hunting knives
• Outdoor, survival & bushcraft knives

Chemical composition

• C: 0,8%
• Cr: 0,35%
• Mn: 0,75%
• Si: 0,25%

Heat treatment: 1.2003 hardening:

• Hardening: 820°C (oil)
• Tempering: 2 hours at 200°C
• Hardness: ~60 HRC
