Product description


Nitro-V offers an outstanding microstructure for fine edges. The high hardness of 61-63 HRC combined with high toughness makes this steel a very well-balanced blade steel. Thanks to these excellent properties, it is an all-round steel with a focus on kitchen knives for the finest edges.


NitroV steel is a stainless, martensitic nitrogen-alloyed chromium steel.

Our "Nitro-V steel" heat treatment recommendation:
Hardening:

  • Oxidation protection required
  • Hardening temperature: 1040°C - 1080°C
  • Quenching medium: air / alternatively oil
  • Cryogenic treatment: -30°C or colder
  • Tempering: 160°C - 200°C
  • Achievable hardness: 59 - 63 HRC
