Product description

The Z-420 PM offers good toughness combined with very high wear resistance. Thanks to its corrosion resistance, it is easy to maintain. This steel performs excellently at a sharpening angle of approx. 18-20° per side with an edge that is not ground too thin (at least ~0,4 mm is recommended).

The Z-420 PM is a stainless powder metallurgy chromium-vanadium alloyed stainless steel.

Hardening:

Oxidation protection required
Hardening temperature: 1120°C - 1140°C
Quenching medium: air or gas
Cryo treatment: -50°C or colder
Tempering: 200°C or 540°C
Achievable hardness: 58 - 61 HRC
