Product description

Folding knife spring hardening,
the spring is tempered in the high-temperature range to achieve the required spring hardness.

  • Target hardness: 50 HRC
  • If a different spring hardness is desired, please specify
  • Tolerance for spring hardening: ± 2 HRC

Our recommended spring material for
folding knives (e.g. backlock):

  • Stainless: 1.4034
  • Carbon steel: 1.2703, 1.8159, 75Ni8

Please label clearly (write the steel type on the spring with a marker) and also include a note withaddress, order number, steel type, and which spring should be measured for individual HRC testing, if applicable.

Hardening is performed in protective gas, carbon steel in furnace atmosphere. The HRC value is marked on the spring with a marker.

During hardening, blanks may warp; we will attempt to straighten them, but in extremely rare cases the blank may break. We do not assume liability for warping or breakage during hardening.
