CPM S30V

CPM S30V is a martensitic stainless powder metallurgy steel.

It was developed to offer the best combination of toughness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.
It has a significant improvement in toughness compared to other high-alloy steels such as 440C and D2.
The corrosion resistance is equal to or better than that of 440C.

Chemical composition

• C: 1,45%
• Cr: 14%
• Mo: 2,5%
• V: 4%

Heat treatment / CPM S30V hardening

• Hardening: 1080°C (air)
• Tempering: 2 hours at 200°C
• Annealing: 600°C - 900°C
• Hardness: ~61 HRC
